Sisqo
Even before Sisqó became an overnight superstar in summer 2000 with the infamous "Thong Song," he was no stranger to success. Not many may have recognized his name, but his voice was no doubt familiar, since he was a member of the massively successful '90s R&B group Dru Hill. In 2000, though, Sisqó finally became a household name thanks to his debut solo album, Unleash the Dragon. "Thong Song" and its scandalous yet ubiquitous video on MTV propelled the album to the top of the charts, followed by another huge hit, "Incomplete." By the end of 2000, Sisqó was not only a music star but also a teen phenomenon because of his youthful looks, toned body, trendy clothing, and stylish hair -- and his omnipresence on MTV obviously didn't hurt. A year after "Thong Song" first blew up, Sisqó returned with his second album, Return of Dragon, and also had lined up a startling number of acting opportunities, reaffirming his superstar status.
Long before Sisqó dyed his hair and tattooed his body, he was born Mark Andrews in Baltimore, MD. He co-founded the group Dru Hill in 1995 with high school friends Jazz, Nokio, and Woody and saw their debut album released in 1996, instantly notable for Keith Sweat's production work. But Dru Hill quickly became noteworthy themselves with "Tell Me," a huge R&B hit. Two years later in 1998, Sisqó again graced the airwaves with the second Dru Hill album, Enter the Dru. After the success of this album, it didn't take long for the prolific young artist to bounce back the following summer with his solo album, Unleash the Dragon. The album's hit singles propelled it to multi-platinum success, setting the stage for Sisqó's forays into acting. He first appeared in the teen comedy Get Over It, before signing a development deal with NBC television and a five-picture deal with Miramax.
Following commercially successful guest appearances on DMX's "What These B*****s Want" and Lil' Kim's "How Many Licks" that kept him in the spotlight while he spent time in the studio, Sisqó re-emerged in the summer of 2001 with Return of Dragon, his attempt to prove that "Thong Song" wasn't just a novelty success. Featuring production by Teddy Riley on the lead single, "Can I Live," the album certainly seemed positioned for mammoth success. And if the music wasn't potent enough, Def Soul's marketing barrage, again featuring tons of MTV exposure and an aggressive targeting of the teen audience, ensured the album's success. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide

At the time when the movie Napolean Dynamite was out on DVD I saw the dance scene and said to myself what would be the funniest song he can dance to beside canned heat, which is a great song btw so then it hit me like a slab of steak to forehead thrown by Uncle Rico, the Thong Song is perfect for the video. I completely forgot that I had it burned on SVCD so i ripped back to my computer and uploaded it on to youtube.

Biography
Sisqó met future Dru Hill bandmate James "Woody" Green while in middle school.[citation needed] The two of them would later be recruited by Tamir "Nokio" Ruffin to form Dru Hill, named after Druid Hill Park in Baltimore. Larry "Jazz" Anthony was also soon added to the lineup.
Releasing two platinum LPs and a number of successful singles, Dru Hill was a major R&B success during the late 1990s, in no small part because of Sisqó's flamboyant stage personality. Sisqó's vocal style has a lot in common with that of K-Ci from Jodeci.[citation needed] As such, several people, K-Ci included, have criticized Sisqó as having co-opted K-Ci's singing style wholesale, while Sisqó himself has gone on record many times naming K-Ci as his primary influence.[citation needed]
In between Dru Hill albums, Sisqó co-wrote the first two hit singles for labelmate Mýa.[citation needed] He appeared as a guest artist on the first single, "It's All About Me".

After Woody left Dru Hill in 1999 to pursue a solo career, it was decided that the other three members would do the same. Sisqó's solo debut, Unleash the Dragon, was released on Def Soul Records in November 1999. Unleash the Dragon sold moderately at first, until the February 2000 release of its second single, a novelty "Thong Song". A runaway hit, "Thong Song" and its follow-up, "Incomplete," were major hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, with "Thong Song" making it to number-three, and "Incomplete" going to number-one. The success later got Sisqó a doll made of himself by Play Along Toys in 2001.[citation needed]
Conflicts within the group prevented Dru Hill from reuniting as planned in late 2000, and Sisqó set about recording a second solo LP. During this period, Sisqó branched out into hosting the dance competition program Sisqó's Shakedown on MTV, and film, taking on supporting roles in the films Get Over It (2001) with Kirsten Dunst and Snow Dogs (2002) with Cuba Gooding, Jr.. Although his second LP, Return of Dragon, released in June 2001, eventually went platinum, its singles "Can I Live" and "Dance With Me" performed far below expectations, and by 2002, Sisqó was back with Dru Hill, who released their third LP in late 2002. The LP underperformed, and the group was eventually released from their record contract.
Sisqó's visual trademarks are his eclectic hair styles, and his flamboyant stage costumes, which were regularly flashier than those of his group mates. Over his career as a recording artist, both with and without Dru Hill, Sisqó's hairstyles have included a bleached blonde Caesar, a platinum-colored Caesar (colored with silver spray-paint), blonde cornrows, a neon-red dyed Caesar, and a bleached blonde Mohawk.
