Fat Joe Defends Joell Ortiz

With several former Terror Squad members blasting rapper Joell Ortiz’s track “Big Pun Is Back,” Pun’s former cohort Fat Joe has come out in defense of Ortiz and the song. Joe pulled no punches when discussing he and Pun’s former crew.

“See, what happened is Big Pun was surrounded by an enormous amount of idiots,” Joe explained in an interview. “And, sad to say, as big of a genius he was, and beautiful as he was, and I’m not just saying that ’cause he dead, ’cause he was the most loyal, beautiful person. He’s my brother. I worship him to death–but, it’s unfortunate he was surrounded by a bunch of f*cking idiots. Nincompoops.”

“You got a younger Spanish dude who’s hot in the streets and he wants to honor Big Pun and you throw slander at him and you disrespect him for f*cking only honoring Pun?” said Joe. “How do expect anybody else to honor Big Pun?! Or talk about him in a good way?!”

Juicy J of Three-Six-Mafia isn’t feeding into all of the Waka Flocka retirement talk. Despite Waka’s claims that he will be hanging up his microphone sometime between now and 2012, Juicy J doesn’t believe the Atlanta rapper will bow out while his career is thriving.

“I like Waka Flocka. Waka Flocka’s one of my favorites,” Paul told Rap-Up TV. “I remember when I was his age. You’re having too much fun. He won’t do it.”

For the record, neither do we, Juicy. Neither do we.

Wiz Khalifa On His Career:

Wiz Khalifa shared his perspective on his career up to this point and his approach going forward. The rapper says he’s not content to remain locked in anyone’s box. He’s going to continue to push and diversify his sound.

“I just been working a lot. Just really finding myself and my own sound and you know putting my diversity out there and not letting anybody put me in a box or let people’s expectations guide what I do,” he said. “Really, just do what I feel and what makes me happy. Even the albums that I put out before, the ‘Say Yeah’s and stuff like that that I did, that was me letting people know that I’m more than just a rapper. I’m making music, I make songs, I’m down to make hits.”

“I mean, everything that I do, I try to do something different, try to make it different from the last,” Wiz said. “Really, just the transition has been learning the game, learning how to make other people happy as well as fulfilling all my needs, too. It’s everywhere. Just life, in general. Living, interacting with different people, hearing different people’s points of views. You gotta be sensitive to everything around you and just always be inspired. You just gotta be open.”
